SUMMARY:Data Reuse: Best Practices and Challenges
DESCRIPTION:While the publication of research data has increasingly become
the norm in recent years\, the reuse of published data is often still in i
ts infancy. Researchers are often unaware of this possibility or struggle
to find suitable research data for their projects and to assess their qua
lity for reuse. This raises important questions:\\r\\nHow can researchers
find and select suitable and FAIR data for reuse? How can researchers asses
s the quality of published and unpublished data for reuse? What prevents re
searchers from reusing data\, and how could this be facilitated?\\r\\nIn t
his workshop\, guest lecturer Dr. Anna Daudrich will address the above que
stions with the participants in three parts\, drawing on theoretical input
 \, practical use cases and hands-on exercises:\\r\\nFirst\, participants w
ill receive a brief overview of recommendations\, best practices\, and sup
port materials relevant to researchers for the reuse of data.Building on t
his knowledge\, participants will engage in hands-on exercises in which th
ey can apply and reflect on the concepts and approaches introduced earlier
\, and contribute their own experiences. The workshop will conclude with an
open discussion of challenges and barriers to data reuse and how data reu
se can be encouraged and facilitated in research through concrete measures
.\\r\\nParticipants are invited to bring examples of datasets or use cases
they would like to share to discuss open questions\, challenges\, or thei
r own experiences regarding data reuse.\\r\\nLecturer\\r\\nDr. Anna Daudri

wards and other members of the university's RDM Network will be invited to
this course by email. Other people who are interested in attending the co
urse are asked to contact the coordinators of the Data Stewardship Program
