Data Stewardship Program Event

Data Stewardship Conversations on Research Ethics & Data Protection

What do the support processes in research ethics and data protection look like and how can we improve them?

Researchers are often unclear about when and to whom they should turn when they have questions about research ethics or data protection and which topics fall under which area of responsibility. Together, we would like to discuss how we could improve the support processes for research ethics and data protection in the RDM Network.
In the first half of the event, Isabelle Wienand of the University Ethics Committee (UEK) and Simone Mäder, Data Protection Officer (DPO), will provide us with an input on responsibilities & differentiation, organizational processes, and existing resources (information & tools) of the UEK and the DPO. In the second part, we will have time to discuss the needs of data stewards and service units and the optimization of support processes. The aim is to share ideas and learn from each other.

As usual, we will end the event with an informal chat over drinks and snacks in the courtyard of the Kollegienhaus.

Data stewards and other members of the university's RDM Network will be invited to this event by email. Other people who are interested in attending the event are asked to contact the coordinators of the Data Stewardship Program (researchdata@clutterunibas.ch).
