  • Grants Office
    “The Grants Office is the central contact point for National and International funding programmes at the University. They provide advice and support at the proposal and project implementation stage.”
    The Grants Tool helps you to establish your project budget and to simplify the planning and confirmation of structural aspects.
  • Basel University Library offers support in writing your data management plan, deposit and publish your data.
  • sciCORE
    sciCORE is the center for scientific computing at the University of Basel, providing high-performance computing infrastructures, large-scale storage and data analysis and data management services. Direct contact page is here.
  • Department of Clinical Research
    The Department of Clinical Research (DKF) is the youngest unit of the Medical Faculty at the University of Basel and a member of the Swiss Clinical Trial Organisation (SCTO). We are located at the University Hospital Basel (USB) and support more than 130 research groups from almost all medical disciplines with an interdisciplinary team of about 50 experts.   • Competence Center in Digital Law
    Goal of the Competence Center is to support Swiss Higher Education Institutions (teachers, researchers and staff of libraries, IT services, law services and administration) in dealing with legal questions in relation with the digitalization process and the use of new media and technologies and raise Awareness of legal risks.
  • Digital Humanities Lab, University Basel
    The DH Lab has a long time tradition in digital imaging and long-term preservation of digital data. It provides Knora, a web-based virtual research environment, which aims to bridge the gap between the production of digital sources and their preservation, allowing researchers to work collaboratively with different types of primary and secondary source material. The DH Lab provides the services of the Data and Service Center for the Humanities (DaSCH), an institution of the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences (SAHSS) financed by the State Secretariat for Eduction, Research and Innovation (SERI).
  • Ethics commission
    For Basel the Ethikkommission Nordwest- und Zentralschweiz (EKNZ) is responsible. To submit projects see submissions.swissethics.ch/en
  • Legal Service
    “The legal service advises, assists and represents the Rectorate, faculties, other organizational units and boards of the university as well as all university staff in legal matters relevant to the university.”
  • Licensing: unitectra
    Unitectra is the technology transfer organization of the Universities of Basel, Bern and Zurich. With its services, it supports scientists in their collaborations with private industry and other public or private research institutions. The transfer of research results into new products and services is fostered in collaboration with the scientists.
