Research data management in doctoral training

The Research Data Management Network (RDM Network) was launched in 2017 and supports researchers at the University of Basel in all questions relating to the management of research data. The network is coordinated by the University Library Basel and sciCORE, the Center for Scientific Computing.

In 2021, the University of Basel launched the Data Stewardship Programme to complement the Research Data Management Network. The aim of the programme is to establish decentralised first points of contact in the individual faculties and departments for all questions relating to research data management.

One long-term goal of the Data Steward Programme is also to integrate RDM into the degree programmes of undergraduate and doctoral students at the University of Basel. If possible, general and subject-specific knowledge of RDM should become a regular part of training at faculties and departments. As a first step, we would like to discuss the integration of RDM into doctoral training. For this purpose, we are organising an information event on Zoom on Thursday, 19 October from 11 am to 12 pm. The event is aimed at the coordinators of the university's graduate schools and doctoral programmes and all other interested parties.

To register for the information event, please send a short message to the coordinators of the Data Stewardship Programme. We will be happy to send you an invitation to the Zoom meeting.
