RDM Coffee Lectures

Text Encoding Initiative (TEI)

Open for everyone

With our Coffee Lecture series, which takes place every two weeks on Thursdays at 1.45 p.m., we offer an insight into a range of infrastructures and tools for research data management.

At the Coffee Lecture on 8 December, Elena Spadini gives an introduction to the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI). The TEI Consortium provides a set of guidelines for encoding machine-readable texts, which are widely used in the Humanities. TEI is used in a variety of research contexts, such as editions of literary and historical texts, linguistic resources, manuscripts and prints description.

Trainer: Elena Spadini (Research & Infrastructure Support RISE, University of Basel)
